Top 3 best cheap engines for go karts and minibikes
Top 3 Best cheap engines for go karts or minibikes!!
If you're trying to find ideas for better engines for your 2 or 4 wheeled toys, or just trying to fix your rigs then you come to the right place.
Now, with introductions out of the way
let's start right out the gate with the first engine in my list.
Predator 212cc Engine.
This motor is you best source of reliable cheap fun. It can handle a lot of weight and a has a vast verity of upgrades and aftermarket parts.
If you want nerdiness this paragraph to be in:
This is the engines specs: The displacement is 212cc engine (obviously) with (according to the manufacturer) 6.5hp horsepower. Now there is something to be said about the horsepower. Just a little sidenote: the horsepower rating the manufacture gave is not entirely true. Yes, the 212 does have 6.5hp but only at its governed revolutions per minute, which is 3,600RPM. Now with that said you can remove the governor (voiding the warranty) and unlock another 1,200RPM's out of the engine. Yes, it can damage the engine but at a price point of 150 bucks I don't think you'll be losing sleep if it blows up.
And with that said, you could easily have a 7hp maybe more horsepower with a governor removal
and something that sounds amazing with a 5,000RPM limit. You could build this to be the power plant of your toys from something modest but speedy, to an absolute monstrosity. Thier is no limit to the 212cc predator engine and that's why I chose this as number 1 on the list.
Next up has to be a the 224cc predator engines:
The Predator 224cc engine is an engine that was designed to be right out of the box big bore version of the 212cc. with just as many aftermarket parts availability if not more than the predator 212cc engine. the engine right out of the box has a noticeable increase of power but nothing too much to write home about. 6.6hp to be exact.
This engine has the ability to be an 8-10,000rpm monster making anything small with wheels able to get up and go. If you don't mind the nerd talk stay for the next paragraph. If not, you can skip this one and head right into the last engine on the list.
So, here's the breakdown on the 224cc predator engine:
The predator 224cc engine is at a price point of $175, it is marketed as a max power engine with a 10% increase in torque compared to other similar engines and is designed to replace the predator 212cc engine. With a max (governed) RPM of 3,750. compared to the 212cc predator engine that has a (governed) RPM of 3,600. the unlocked RPM of the 224cc predator engine is 5500. With that said, a engine with a bit more Revolutions Per Minute and horsepower that's closer to 7.3 for 40ish dollars more is not a bad investment.
"Ghost" predator Engine.
Nerd talk over... I will continue to the last small and but definitely not cheap engine on the list...
if you have ever followed the predator engine series then you know where this is going. WE are talking about the 212cc "ghost" predator engine. this is a pre-packaged powerhouse made so you don't HAVE to upgrade it. just install and go. There are definitely upgrades for it don't get me wrong. but with something to powerful for how small it is, depending on your area you might not be able to open it up enough to have fun with it.
I know there is a lot to the engine so I'll just post the upgrades made from the factory.
it's priced at $330 dollars for all these pre-installed upgrades.
- Reinforced dual ball-bearing racing cylinder with cast iron sleeve
- Squeeze cast, T-6 heat treated aluminum rod
- Ground came with built-in mechanical compression release, forged carbon steel racing crankshaft with induction hardened crankpin
- High-silicon valve springs
- High flow racing intake port
- Digital timing advance ignition system with built-in rev limiter at 6000 RPM
- Round slide carburetor
- Fire-ring head gasket
- Racing piston ring package
- Nitrited-dished exhaust valve
The end of the list...
If you have made it this far thank you for sticking till the end!
